New Chapter, Same Soul – The Odder Side 2.0

Change doesn't always have to be a revolution. Sometimes it's an evolution - quiet but significant. The kind that comes when you feel like you're a little further, a little different, but still yourself. That's why we're presenting you with something that has matured with us: our new logo .

Justyna and Brygida – co-founders of The Odder Side – talk about why they decided to change and what it really means.

Where did the decision to change the logo come from and what was the impetus for it?

In the life of every brand, there comes a moment when a logotype used for many years starts to get a little bit annoying :) Our name came to me in a dream at night, right after the first conversation with Brygida about the fact that we were establishing a brand, creating collections and that this is what our lives would look like. When I went to sleep, I knew that I wanted to play with words, that our name should be non-obvious, but memorable. And that it definitely had to be in English - our international aspirations had been with us "from day one" ;)

The name and its spelling woke me up in the middle of the night. The Odder Side - a familiar expression, used in every casual conversation, suggests a deeper look at the subject. "on the other hand" also perfectly fits our concept of an open back. The first thing I did - before I even told Brygida about my idea - was to trademark the name on Instagram. The dots on both sides suited us then. Today we are saying goodbye to them.

Our logo has become more mature. Just like us :)

How does this change fit into the future of The Odder Side brand?

I think it's a natural evolution :) Looking at the new logo, I see our entire new branding and... I'm excited about this change. I think it's a new quality, coherent, but giving space for seasonal improvisation. We're thinking about the future: about our current and future stores in different cities around the world, about customers leaving them with clothes of our design, packed in new bags. We're proud of this change and can't wait for the finale of all the new products we've prepared. We've been working on them for over a year, and we set the implementation date well in advance, so that we could use up all the materials with the "old" logo. We almost succeeded ;) The transition process will take a while. Today, we're a much more recognizable brand than we were 6 or 8 years ago. Our communication, collections and community have evolved over time! The new "us" is still the same authenticity and a bit of controlled chaos - nothing changes here. We wouldn't be ourselves without spontaneity and eternal searching.

The new logo is not just letters. It is a sign of time – of what has passed and what is yet to come. It is a visual symbol of development, maturity, but also freshness. And although we change on the outside, our DNA remains the same. We are still here to create things that you wear with pleasure. Things that you fall in love with, just like we do!
