A December calendar page

It's December 11th. There are only a few days left until Christmas. It's cold outside, Christmas shop windows twinkle red and green, and you're slowly getting into the rhythm. These days have something magical about them. They're not yet as bustling as Christmas Eve itself, but you can already smell all the things we love – cinnamon, cloves, mandarins, and... peace. This is the moment when life's pace slows down, and you start to tune into the Christmas harmony. But before we begin, how about an evening with friends and a batch of homemade gingerbread cookies?

Recipe for festive chill

The recipe for this day is simple: take a deep breath, put on something soft like Cece sweatpants, something comfortable like a Baseball sweatshirt, and just let yourself be carried away by the festive atmosphere. This is your moment. Start with something simple and incredibly atmospheric – gingerbread cookies that will fill the whole house with the aroma of spices.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon ginger, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 150g butter, 1 egg, 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions:

  • Christmas playlist! Don't even start without it. Bobby Heims, Chris Rea, Mariah Carey. Yes, that's the vibe.
  • Mix dry ingredients: flour, spices, baking powder.
  • In another bowl, combine butter with sugar, add egg and honey. Mix.
  • Combine everything and knead the dough. Set aside in the fridge for a moment – you have time to take care of other things.
  • After about 30 minutes, take out the dough, roll it out, and cut out cookies. Stars, Christmas trees, reindeer. Bake at 180°C for 10-12 minutes. Done!
  • Cookies in the oven, and you? You have a moment for yourself. Maybe a quick tea or coffee before your friends arrive? Or a quick look at movies for the evening?

    Christmas Repertoire

Every year at The Odder Side office, we hold a Christmas poll for our favorite movie. Let's leave Love Actually or The Holiday for later, closer to Christmas Eve. Now it's time for Carol – stunning Cate Blanchett, the melancholic atmosphere of the 50s, style, and subtle emotions. And if you fancy something more fun – Grinch always works!

    Balance between style and chill

You return to the kitchen, cookies are ready, the house smells like the best cafe. Christmas playlist is playing in the background, and you immerse yourself in the moment. Wait, wait, what about your Christmas outfit? No need to panic, The Odder Side has a solution.

You know it's going to be a day full of loved ones, warmth, and perhaps endless feasting. You want to look beautiful, but at the same time feel comfortable. And that's what Christmas outfits are all about – ease combined with elegance.

    Christmas with The Odder Side

Let's start with the base. You need something that will be versatile, yet give your outfit a distinctive character. Our suggestions are the Noon, Abel, or Swing dresses – simple, but each with a wow effect. Just add minimalist jewelry or high boots, and the whole look gains class and lightness. Ideal propositions for family dinners.

However, if you're thinking more about something in the home chill style, opt for the oversized Reign sweater – comfortable, warm, and perfect for a lazy winter afternoon. Pair it with Ellis wool trousers, and you'll be ready for any pre-Christmas situation – from a spontaneous outing to meet a friend, to last-minute gift shopping, to comfortable preparations in the kitchen. It's a look that says "relax," but at the same time doesn't compromise your style.

Or maybe you have a last outing planned for the day before Christmas Eve? Pair the Haze shirt with classic jeans and cowboy boots. This will give you confidence and introduce a stylish twist to the festive atmosphere. And for the top? An Ellis wool blazer!

    Final Touch

Cookies are on the table, laughter fills the air, and all around you, there's only peace and the scent of spices. As you settle in comfortably, with mugs of hot chocolate in hand, you can finally relax and celebrate these pre-holiday moments. And that's what it's all about – ease, joy, and pleasure, which are most important at this time.
